Our Mission
The Healing Chapters Foundation is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) that delivers books to children of all ages who are dealing with physical or mental illness. Founded by a children’s author after witnessing unmet needs at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, MN, our goal is to partner with service organizations to distribute carefully selected, comforting, age-appropriate books. We believe in the healing power of reading—or being read to—as a source of comfort, escape, and strength when kids need it most.
Gifting Partners
To reach more children, we partner with organizations serving families whose children are coping with physical or mental illness. By supplying these partners with an inventory of age-appropriate books, we bring stories that heal directly to the kids who need them most:

We have selected these books from independent authors to comprise our library of titles to donate to our target organizations. By choosing such books, we can ensure our recipients can provide unique reading materials to the children while at the same time, we support the creativity of new authors. A Busy September 2025
We were pretty active this month, dropping off books with 4 of our Gifting Partners: Ronald McDonald Houses in Iowa City, St Louis, and Rochester and to the Childhood Cancer Community. Plus, the Foundation and numerous volunteers were very active in selling tickets to our first ever Raffle. The Raffle will be drawn in November…
